I didn't really think about doing another "LOVE DAY" until about mid-May 2021 or so. Then I looked around at some of the stuff I had made this year and decided to put something together. I'm putting out a collaboration album with my good friend Grindstone in a few weeks, and working on a live album that I also plan to record in July '21. So, why would I decide to make and release something else this summer? Type shit this nigga on, right?

There are a few reasons for that, but a central one.. I was talking to my mother a couple weeks ago, at a time when I was a bit winded from all this work, but not quite burnt out. I told her about how for the past few years I've noticed a creative drive within myself during this time of year, but I couldn't quite pinpoint why.

Then my mother.. I wouldn't say she reminded me, but she helped me contextualize some things..

On May 24, 2012, my grandfather passed away. My grandmother passed away on December 6, 2012; her birthday is May 26; his is July 11. I miss each of them indescribably. They gave me love and hella game. They encouraged me to be genuine, and through example, they taught me how to dedicate myself. I'm sure they wouldn't love all these songs I've made over the years, but I'm sure they know that I wouldn't be who I am without them, especially when it comes to the best parts of who I am; music is one of the best parts of who I am, who we are, as a family. So the shit I make this time of year is for them, and for me. and you can get some, too, if you want.

God willing, by the time you read this, Rye & Wine will be available everywhere. the whole album type shit. that shit hard. i wasn't sayin that because |NEXT| LOVE DAY is some sidearm shit. i love this album. i think it's the best thing i ever made. if you fuck wit me enuff to be done bought this, I really hope you dig this shit.

I love my kids. I love my family and I love my team. I thank God for the tribulations and the lessons I learned from all that shit; I praise God for everything that's happening now and everything that's to come. I don't forgive none of my opps. call Myreo or Terrance if you wanna book me. see you again soon. i love you. Free Brandon and Braden. Free Larry.
